2023 Thrill Design Competition Presented by Universal Creative and Toronto Metropolitan University
I had the honor of representing Carnegie Mellon University at the 2023 Thrill Design Competition presented by Universal Creative and Toronto Metropolitan University in Orlando, Florida! I was a part of a dedicated, diverse, multi-disciplinary team with 5 other students from Carnegie Mellon University: Anaya Bhammar, Louise Cutter, Angelinne Mendenhall, Justin Peng, and Matthew Saenz! We competed alongside 106 other students from 19 universities in the United States and Canada on various exciting themed entertainment design challenges! Over the course of 48 hours, our team competed in three different challenges: Interactive Attraction, Attraction with Environmental Constraints, and Attraction with a Complex Narrative. We designed and presented our three original attraction in 10 minute presentations to judges from Universal Creative and other companies from throughout the industry. Our team was one of 6 schools specially recognized for our commendations from the judges at the closing ceremony! Our team earned commendations in artistic illustration, communication/presentation, creative skills, operational feasibility, technical communication, technical integration, and technical innovation.
